Filmmaker and undisputed king of family dramas, Mohan Kumar, passed away early this morning.
He was 83.
Social activist-filmmaker, Ashoke Pandit confirmed the news and said, “Yes, Mohan ji is no more.
The cremation of the filmmaker took place today at 11 am at Pawan Hans Vile Parle.
Kumar began his Bollywood career in 1961 with Aas Ka Panchhi. His last project was Amba (1990). He made immensely likable films such as Anpadh, Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Aap Ki Parchhaiyan, Anjaana, Aap Aye Bahaar Ayee, Mome Ki Gudiya, Amir Garib, Aap Beati and Avtaar among others.
Mohan Kumar was born in 1934 in Sialkot now a part of Pakistan. After partition, the filmmaker, producer and screenwriter moved to Mumbai and settled here where he began his journey.
